General Labor – Mill/Winder Operator

Job Details:

General Labor is a Temp-to-Hire position and could start as a Mill/Winder Operator, Assistant Mixer, or other open positions. Below are the 2 main job descriptions. (Temp to Hire position)

Job Title: Mill Operator/ Winder Operator

Department/ Location: PVC

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicate with the Calender Operator to find out the plc settings for the mill or winder
Prepare and start up the extruder, and mill also assist with threading the line up during start up
Refeed rolls as instructed by either the line leader or calendar operator
Follow all relevant policies and procedures (Safety, 5S, and ARC policies)
Provide instruction for co-workers in the correct operation of the extruder and mill
Properly conduct quality tests and ensure proper use of quality equipment
Keep the line leader or the calendar operator informed if any of the quality tests are out of specification
Prepare all packaging materials for the orders according to the packaging instructions in CoAgo
Package rolls
Correctly enter QC and production data into CoAgo
Keep work area(s) orderly and clean according to 5s standards
Take care of the edge trims as well as any scrap rolls in the winder area
If the line is down clean the mill and winder area as well as the extruder hopper or hoppers

Physical Requirements

Ability to work a 12 hour shift
Positive attitude, flexibility
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds regularly
Ability to read a tape measure accurately (metric and standard)
Basic math skills
General computer knowledge
High safety and cleanliness standards
Good communication skills within the department as well as with other departments
Ability to teach and coach fellow team members
Dependability on a daily basis
Responsible
Ability to walk, stand, push, pull, reach overhead, bend, and kneel.

High School diploma/General Equivalency diploma

Schedule
36 hours 1 week, 48 hours the next, 12 hour shifts,
example work schedule – work Mon/Tues, off Wed/Thurs, Work Fri/Sat/Sun, Off Mon/Tues, Work Wed/Thurs, Off Fri/Sat/Sun

Hourly Compensation

16.95 Dollars / Hour
